Our Integrated Topic for Term One was "Keeping Safe is the Thing to Do". We discussed and investigated different ways to keep ourselves safe, particularly on the road and in the water. One of our tasks was to design and build a boat, made of natural materials, which would keep a toy model safe in the water. We built and tested several designs before we took our final modified boat down to the Mapua Wharf to float them in the sea.
Several of the children wrote a recount of the day out.
