Observations of Our Plant Growing

We checked our beans in their jars every week to compare their growth.

We discovered ......

No Love grew. It got 3 leaves and a very long stalk. It was looking for sunshine

No Sun grew really tall and was yellow and its stalk broke. It needed sunshine to be strong.

Planted Deeply only had a little shoot. We think Digger (the visiting cat) stepped on it while trying to catch a bird!!!

No Air had no roots. It was all soggy so needed air to help the bean grow.

No Soil grew. The bean split open, for the stalk to come out. The root had found a wee bit of soil. The bean pushed the paper in to reach the soil. So beans need soil to grow.

No Water grew. It had lots of leaves and really big roots. The roots were looking for water. 

On the Window Sill had lots of leaves and more were coming . The stalk was long and thick.

We know beans need water, air, soil, love and sunshine to help them grow well.
