Disappearing Water

Our Topic for Term Two is a Science Unit called Disappearing Water.
We wrote a Whole Class Observation about our first experiment.

ICE    by  ROOM TWO

We got a balloon and blewit up. We put it on the tap. We turned on the tap and filled the balloon up with water. The balloon got all stretchy.
We tied the balloon at the top. We put it in an ice cream container. We put the ice cream container in the freezer. We checked it lots of times. We waited for ages. It took two days. After two days it the water was frozen.
We took the balloon off by cutting the top. It was all frozen on the outside, but in the middle there was water. We noticed bubbles inside the ice. It was cold to touch. It was slippery. It was heavy. Our hands got cold and wet because the coldness turned into water.

We made a big hole in our ice ball by putting on salt and food colouring. The salt made the ice melt. The salt made a really big hole and the ice fell down into the middle. The salt made the ice ball crack and rough to touch.
The ice ball melted in one night.
